  • 420J2 is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel whose chemical composition complies with GB/T 1220-2007 standards. It is primarily used in applications demanding high hardness and wear resistance alongside moderate corrosion resistance, such as tool manufacturing, mechanical engineering, medical devices, and mold processing industries. After quenching and tempering treatment, this material exhibits outstanding hardness and wear resistance, coupled with excellent machinability and polishability, meeting the forming requirements for precision components.
  •  420J2 is suitable for precision components operating within a temperature range of -20°C to 300°C. It can also be used in equipment exposed to mild corrosive media, such as dry atmospheres or weak acid/alkali solutions. It should be noted that its corrosion resistance falls short compared to austenitic stainless steels, making it unsuitable for highly corrosive environments like seawater or concentrated acids. However, after heat treatment, this material demonstrates significant advantages in hardness retention and wear resistance, making it well-suited for high-frequency friction applications.
  • After low-temperature tempering, 420J2 stainless steel bars, strips, and plates achieve a hardness of HRC 52-55, making it an ideal material for manufacturing critical components such as surgical instruments, kitchen knives, plastic mold inserts, and hydraulic valve cores. Equipment components fabricated from 420J2 ensure high strength and wear resistance while optimizing structural precision. This extends service life under high-frequency friction conditions, fully meeting the stringent reliability demands of precision equipment manufacturing.
