201 stainless steel is a nickel-saving austenitic stainless steel with core composition of chromium 16%-18%, manganese 5.5%-7.5%, nickel 3.5%-5.5% (lower than 304 stainless steel), with carbon ≤0.15%. By partially substituting nickel with manganese, it balances cost and fundamental corrosion resistance. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties, with a tensile strength of approximately 520 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa, along with good cold workability. Due to its high cost-effectiveness, it is widely used in decorative applications (e.g., stainless steel railings, elevator panels, door and window frames) , daily necessities (non-food-contact kitchenware, thermos shells), light industrial products (shelving, filing cabinets, trash bins), and structural components in mild outdoor corrosion environments (e.g., simple sunshade supports). Note that its corrosion resistance is inferior to 304 stainless steel, making it unsuitable for prolonged exposure to saltwater, acidic liquids, or core food processing equipment.
